Kelleher holds an MLIS with specialization in Archival Enterprise (2000) and an MA in Journalism (2014) from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Archivist. Currently the Head of Special Collections at the University of Houston Libraries, he was previously the Archivist and Assistant Head Librarian of UT Austin's Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection. He is past chair of the International Archival Affairs Round Table, and incoming chair of the Acquisitions & Appraisal Section.
