110 - I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means: Differing Conceptions of the Archive

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Five practitioners gather to discuss conceptions of "the archive," with a focus on how archivists define archives and communicate these definitions, and how the concept of "the archive" is evolving. By centering community, user, and archivist definitions of "the archive," the panelists aim to address our own misconceptions and shibboleths, how and if the definition should be expanded, how we are alike and different across disciplinary silos, and how archivists can lead this change.

Christian-Lamb: I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means: Differing Conceptions of the Archive
Bastian: Its Not just Academic: Reconciling the "Archive" with the Archives
Gunn: Defining the Archive in the Interdisciplinary Classroom
Haykal: Archiving in the Community
