The speakers provide insight and guidance to librarians and archivists who must develop responses to unanticipated and unthinkable tragedies. Panelists discuss research and experiences managing the condolence archives created in the wake of the school shootings at Virginia Tech, UC Santa Barbara, and Sandy Hook Elementary. Through the presentation of these case studies, they foster a discussion around essential questions and best practices for condolence material managers. Handouts are provided.
