The principal author of the Council of State Archivists' State Electronic Records Initiative assessment report leads a panel discussion on progress made in SERI's first six years to improve management and preservation of digital government information in all 56 state and territorial archives. Panelists outline progress in state archives and records programs in dealing with electronic records and digital preservation; look at SERI's as yet unmet goals; and outline future plans for SERI.
